About Us

Our Mission

The Wyvern Fellowship is a private company limited by guarantee, incorporated to carry on activities for the public benefit. This is a plain-English summary of our formal objects; the full legal wording sits in our Articles of Association.

Our Objects

What We're Set Up To Do

  • 01

Build a nationally connected network of individuals, families and local groups focused on mutual support, community resilience and the preservation of shared cultural heritage.

  • 02

Promote economic cooperation and mutual aid so communities become more self-sufficient and members facing hardship are supported.

  • 03

Provide practical family and mutual-aid services, including support for new parents and vulnerable members, always within safeguarding and equality law.

  • 04

Offer lawful information, advice and signposting to members facing legal or administrative difficulties.

  • 05

Organise community events, heritage projects, seasonal gatherings, skill-sharing workshops and educational talks that strengthen local bonds.

  • 06

Develop education and training programmes that build practical skills, cultural knowledge and local self-reliance.

  • 07

Conduct and publish lawful research into the social, economic and cultural trends affecting community resilience, for public-interest and educational purposes.

  • 08

Advocate lawfully for policies that strengthen families and communities, and defend open discussion of culture, community and heritage.

  • 09

Make grants and donations to individuals and organisations whose work furthers these aims, subject to proper due diligence.

Governance

How We're Run

The Wyvern Fellowship is a company limited by guarantee, not a private business. There are no shareholders, and there's no profit to hand out. Every subscription, donation and grant we receive is locked to our mission: preserving heritage, building resilience, and securing our future. If the Fellowship were ever wound up, what remained would pass to another organisation doing similar work, never into anyone's pocket.

Day to day, we're steered by a small board of directors who carry legal responsibility for the organisation and are bound by the objects set out in our Articles of Association. We keep that board deliberately small and accountable, so decisions get made quickly, carefully, and by people who've earned real trust within the Fellowship, not by committee.

That trust is built from within. Our National Fellows (a small, senior circle drawn from our most committed members) are the group our directors turn to first when the board needs new leadership, and our Local Fellows lead the chapters that bring the Fellowship to life in towns and cities across the country. Every Fellow, at every tier, is part of the network that makes this possible. How far you go within it is a matter of commitment and character, not how much you pay.

Safeguarding

Our Commitment

All of our family and mutual-aid services, community events and local chapter activities are run in accordance with applicable safeguarding and equality legislation. If you have a safeguarding concern, please see our Safeguarding Policy or contact us directly.
